Hello, art enthusiasts! Today, I'm sharing the whirlwind world of Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train, my latest solo art show at the Gallery at the J in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Here you can see some installation photos, giving us a sneak peek into the chaotic beauty of  work.

First things first, I'd like to address the elephant in the art gallery (or should I say, the train?). The title Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train is intriguing and, I hope, relatable. Which parent hasn't felt like they've been run over by a locomotive after a long day of parenting? This artwork captures this parental feeling with a blend of humor and raw emotion that is slightly mysterious and fun.

As you can see in these art installation photos, the original abstract paintings show many colors, shapes, and emotions. Each piece tells a story, inviting the viewer to step into the artist mother's world and experience motherhood in a whole new way. 

This is my way to express the chaos of motherhood. It's quirky, unexpected and a bit whimsical. I hope that the paintings and ideas behind them make you smile and reminisce about your own parenting experiences and childhood. Perhaps you remember moments of chaos and craziness amidst the joy of parenthood.

Shown here are two framed paintings that sold titled: Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train, Mid-Line #2 and Motherhood Hit Me Like a Train, Mid-Line #3. Both paintings were created in 2024 with watercolour and pigment on paper.
